I am a hopeless romantic, proud to be an english Gentleman who knows how to treat a Lady, although I am a bit of a rebel and enjoy being unconventional when possible. I came to France twenty years ago seeking the good life and found it! I raised three sons single handedly, they have all left home now which leaves me FREE. In my professional life I am an Antiques Dealer who specializes in asian Art, this is my major passion and has been since I started when still in short trousers (well it was hot that summer). I also love to travel and have been very lucky to have been able to indulge my gypsy soul but I still have a list as long as your arm to complete (you do have long arms?). I own a lovely Camper Van and enjoy traveling around Europe in search of good food, interesting people, beautiful remote places, cities of culture and art and of course looking for Antiques! I love to cook and make a wicked curry, a good Sunday roast (fluffy Yorkshire Puddings), Sichaun Beef, Jamaican rice and peas, ohh I got to stop I'm getting hungry! Music is a big part of my life too, all types – classical, 1970's, world, reggae, soul, jazz (not that modern headache mess), blues, the list goes on. . . . . I love going to gigs and festivals. Sailing is something I have done a lot of but now my crew have left home I have reluctantly parted with my little Yacht. Places visited last year include Italy, Spain, Israel, Laos, UK, USA, Corsica and Morocco. Next trip planned is to take the train across Turkey to visit Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and any other Stans that I meet along the way, no fixed itinerary but take it as it comes. I like to go walking and ride my bike (bicycle not the noisy type), I hasten to add that I am NOT one of those skinny lycra clad speed freaks with a bike that weighs 50 grams and cost more than my car did. I love to visit museums and make an informed tour guide, I am a font of useless knowledge especially where Asian Art is concerned. I like a good film and right now I'm binge watching “call the midwife”, I have learnt enough in the first two series to be able to deliver a baby with my eyes closed! I like kids, good job really because I have loads! Well three very French ones and a grown up one in London. All have fled the nest and are independent young men that I am proud of and remain very close to. I'm an animal lover – lots of experience with dogs and horses – used to compete in three day events in a past life in UK. Like everybody I love to laugh and to make people laugh, I love good comedy!!! I enjoy intelligent conversation and I used to have slots on British talk radio stations (I have the face for radio). Pet hates – snobbery, bad manners, waiters in the wrong job, aggression, cruelty, politicians, French bureaucracy, personalized number plates, skinny lycra clad speed freaks with a bike that weighs 50 grams and cost more than my car did, queuing, patronising signs, American spell checkers,
