Ahoy-hoy. I be Shanny B. I'm a Canadian ex-pat who's lived in Taiwan for two years running. Like just about all white people in this country, I teach english Stephen King captured my sentiment re: this profession perfectly--I like my co-workers, love my kids, but by Friday afternoon I feel as though I have jumper cables attached to my ears. My life passions come in threes: 1. Ecology. This is what I studied in University. Unfortunately hugging trees and getting pissed off at the government aren't overly employable skills; but I digress. 2. Hoopdance. This hipster art form changed my life. Feel free to check the video. 3. Writing. I think of myself as a fairly gifted tale-spinner. I love reading, writing, telling stories and I'm dedicated to this craft. To save us both time I'll sum up the rest of my personality here: I dig: big minds, eccentric&beautiful people, good music, living outdoors, and summer nights that seem to go on forever. I hate: small minds, bad music, evil conservative industries, and those posh kids who think being "hippy" is nothing more than a fashion statement.
