I'm a people person. I love to help out and lend a hand where needed (often one of the first to say yes). Although I've tried to avoid politics, for decades, I've been and to some degree still am a passionate advocate for social issues. I'm orderly (maybe a bit perfectionist) and efficient. I've spent a few years on my own, so cooking, cleaning, home repair, laundry and the like are familiar.
I'm a retired civil servant and educator. I spent decades in Western Canada, but I'm now in Eastern Canada to foster family relationships (kids and grandkids). I have three adult kids from my first relationship. I'm a bit new to Kingston, but not to Ontario where I was born.
I love to read (especially historical non-fiction and biographies but a good fiction too). I have traveled a fair bit - Across Canada, of course and up to Alaska, Europe and england Greece, Mauritius and South Africa, Costa Rica and Mexico. To amuse myself I do jigsaws on line and sing (I've been singing off and on since I was 7 and I actually now sing lead in semi-professional choir). I have dabbled in writing (been published a few times in small local media). I'm a bit of a handyman and gardener. I have a good sense of humour, I'm a fair cook, a good storyteller, an occasional busker and amateur actor.
Although retired from government for a few years now, I teach French at the local Seniors' Center.
I'm looking to see if there's a lady out there who's interested in friendship first. After that, que sera, sera! :-)
