Thank you for providing me with the opportunity to introduce myself. I am Mr Samik De. I am residing in South Kolkata, India. I belong from a suburban area surrounded by natural beauties and agricultural lands. The location of my house is in such a position where the Bay of Bengal is situated at the Southern position and the Himalayan Mountains at the Northern Position. The location of my house as per latitude is 22.496484 and longitude is 88.364578. We are four of us in the family, that is my parents, younger brother and myself. My Father is retired as Senior Accounts Manager 5yrs back. At present, he is a Finance & Accounts Consultant. My father is qualified in Master of Commerce and Master in law. My mother is a homemaker cum teacher. She is qualified for a Master of Arts (Honours) in Economics. She practices Indian Classical Dance in her free time and performs on the public platform also. She also runs a school of Teaching and Performing Indian classical cultural activities in India and abroad. Nowadays my mom is free from taking care of me and my brother because we can earn and look after ourselves, so she is having lots of free time. My Younger Brother completed his Master’s in Urban Design of Architecture from Oxford Brooks, London, United Kingdom. Currently, he is also pursuing Paintings & works for an Architectural firm in London, United Kingdom. He plays Chellos and Chellos double bass Musical instruments in various choirs and other music schools and performing these days.
Regarding my educational qualifications –
I have completed my schooling at Assembly of God Church High School. Graduated with bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) in Hospitality & Tourism Management from I.I.A.S.- School of Management, Kolkata, West Bengal under Viswa-Bharati University, Shanti Niketan, West Bengal, India. I choose to be in the hospitality and tourism industry as I believe I am a people pleaser, and I would love to bring a smile to people’s faces. I am qualified in Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) in Hospitality & Tourism Management with over 12 years of experience in F & B Service Management, Client Relationship Management, Catering Facility Management, Supplier Management, Employee Record & Payroll Management, Hygiene & Quality Control and Resource Optimization. Presently associated as a consultant. I possess wide experience in working at Accommodation Operation Department, Front Office Department, Food & Beverage Service Department (Banquet & Room Service), Administration & Human Resource Department. I have hands-on experience in events management that includes coordinating with disc jockeys, photographers, videographers and wedding planners, being dexterous in promoting & marketing the business, managing budgets & financial plans, controlling expenditure and ensuring accurate hiring of key players within the operation. I considered being a worthy donor in achieving revenue growth by developing and implementing sales and marketing plans in conjunction with the Management Services Team.
In my leisure, I love to curl up in the corner of the house with culinary books and I have a special interest in cooking and baking. Besides cooking, gardening is another interest of mine. From my childhood, I have watched my mother rearing plants on my terrace, I have always helped her. Now, I do the gardening myself. I am interested in colourful flowers and growing seasonal flower-like petunias and dahlias. There is a section in my terrace reserved only for roses. And during the offseason, my crotons keep me busy. Sometimes I love to play computer games. I love to decorate the house with those plants. I would love to meet friends to spend a healthy time watching movies in the hall and spent some time having food in a speciality restaurant. I love to bake confectionery items. I like to meet diverse kinds of people, learn about the cultures of people belonging to different places, and especially interested in learning about their cuisine, various customs they follow. I find it refreshing to interact with people who live in different environments. I am a person who is quite reasonable in approach towards life with a mix of seriousness & humour, has a deeper understanding of things. I am strongly against Divorce, Dowry & Deceptions like engagements. Circumstantial proof of Deception leads me to have divorced by the year 2015 and right now I am single without any botheration. I am fully aware of all kinds of engagements of life. In my life, I had friends, so I have enough knowledge on how to upkeep happiness of a person about food, beverage, travel spots for taking out, etc. As a self-motivated individual with a positive approach, I can lead and motivate others whilst delivering effective business results. I have a track record of achieving targets in all areas of hospitality, including guest satisfaction, reward enrolment and much more. I can implement and maintain the highest standards of hotel service and deliver unforgettable guest service.
Possessing superb commercial acumen, I am more than able to grow revenues and maximize the financial performance of any hotel department. With my strong communication, leadership, analytical, planning, coordination and relationship management skills, self-motivation and exploiting challenging deadlines, I can strive for any organization. My immediate goal is to get into the managerial role but in the initial five years of my working experience and my ultimate aim is to become a successful entrepreneur in the hospitality and tourism business. I regard my father as my true source of inspiration as he is the most honest considerate and diligent person I have ever come across in my life.
